Thankful for Green Beans

As Thanksgiving approaches, I am reflecting on all the blessings I have in my life. These are 2 of them. I have a wonderful family and phenomenal friends. I have much to be thankful for everyday.

Riley has been doing really well for the past few days. He had a few bad days a week ago so I put him back on the pain meds and after 3 days I could see that he was doing much better. We have been going for nice long walks everyday. The weather has been really nice this past week so I had to take advantage. Riley goes back to see Dr. Glass in another 10 days so we'll see what he says. Riley is still scratching but not nearly as bad as he was before being put on the medicine. His appetite is still insatiable. I feel bad for him because he is always looking for food. I know that he will be like this as long as he is on the prednisone. He is going to turn into a green bean for the amount that he eats each day.

It's been a while since I've posted so I will try to update. I had to bring Riley back to Dr. Glass last Tues as his scratching was getting bad. The Dr. put him on gabapentin in addition to the steroids, tramadol and pepcid. He thought that this may help relieve some of the symptoms and make Riley more comfortable. Riley seems to be doing pretty well. I don't know if it is the new medication but Riley seems to be a little more awake. He is still scratching and that does not seem to be getting any better. We go back in 1 month for a check up.
I think the nice weather has made Riley feel better these past few days. We have been able to walk and enjoy being outside. I have not given Riley any Tramadol for 3 days and he does not seem to be in any pain. Ryan was home for the weekend and Riley just loves being with him when he's here. He definitely perked up when Ryan was here. Riley had a great time walking with his friends Reggie and Tillie and we also stopped to play with Darby for a while. It is so cute to see them all together. Enjoy these nice days while we have them!!!
