Riley had a better night last night. The patch came off by itself so I gave him a pain pill before I put him to bed. He was showing signs of pain, even though the patch was off for a short time. The vet gave me plenty of pain medication ( tramadol) so there is no reason for him to be in any pain. I think he was totally exhausted by the time I put him in his crate so he slept very well almost all night. This morning we said good bye to Ryan who is on his way to New Orleans. They were in West Virginia the last time I heard from him. They expect the trip to take between 24 -26 hours so they should arrive by tomorrow in the early afternoon. After Ryan left I iced Riley's leg which he tolerated very well. Later in the morning I warmed up Riley's leg and did some stretching and some massage. He let me know when he had enough. I took him for a short walk out to the mailbox and back. He did really well and was putting some weight on his leg for the whole walk. I iced his leg just a short while ago. He just had another pain pill ( every 8 hrs) so he is back asleep. He is finally able to be back up on his favorite chair which makes us both happy. The snow is falling but I hope it won't be as much as they first predicted. Stay warm , see ya tomorrow
